SUSPENDED PLAYERS. Mr J. Freeman, referee in the Hui Mai v. Tainui match, played last Saturday, at Otaki, reported as follows:—1 have to report that T ordered a Hui Mai player (J. Martin) off the field last Saturday for offering an insult to me during the progress of the game. The facts of the case are these: Hui Mai had crossed their opponents' goalline—a forward pass losing tiheni a certain try. On my ordering a st rum for the pass forward Martin said. "That's making it too hot, Freeman!" J migftt state that Martin came and apologised to me after the game. Martin, wiho attended 'tJlve meeting. in answer to a question, admitted that the remark was intended to question the decision of the referee, but he (Martin) had made tlliie- remark believing that the pass had not beon a forward one. After some further discussion the following resolution was proposed by Mr Easther, and seconded 'by Mr Procter: 1 ' That Martin be suspended for two playing Saturdays. Mr Rurge moveu as an amendment "That in view of the circumstances and the letter of the referee no action be taken." The amendment was not seconded. Mir W'hibley moved a further Amendment: "That the player be suspended for four playing Saturdays." This also failed to find 'a seconder and the original motion was carried, v The N.Z.R.U. wrote confirming the disqualification by the Otago Union of W. 'Newlands till end of season 1912, for deliberately kicking an opponent.

OTHER MATTERS. An application was received from the Weraroa Football Club asking that W. Han nan be classified as a junior. Hannan, it was stated at the meeting, had played senior for the past two seasons, but would this year find it extremely difficult to secure a place in any of the •senior teams of tiro Union. It was decided, on the motion of Mr Kingi Tahiwi, seconded by Mr Whibley, that Hannan sfhould be classified, a junior player. Mr Procter mentioned that while in conversation with the secretary «f the Manawatu Union he was informer! that that Union would endeavour to send a representative team to Levin on Saturday, July lGth. Th'o meeting then adjourned.
