As previously mentioned, there are several wayside stations at which one or mote of the above trains will stop whenever passengers desire to be set down or taken up. Local residents may aeoertain which are the trains which cater for their towns, and may then work out, from the above figures, the time which the train will take to travel from the station immediately preceding. The Auckland express reaohea Palmerston, from the Norths at 18.40 p.m. and arrivee at Thorndon at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland express leaves Thorndon. at 11.18 p-m« and reaches Palmerston at 8.88 p.m
