KOPUTAROA'S CELEBRATION.

[Our correspondents' opinions are . Jieir own; the responttibilit} of -tutorial ones makes sufficient bal,:ist for the editor's shoulder*, j

To the Editor. Sir.—Your Shannon correspondent says that Shannonites will not go to Levin for the Coronation-, hut as an old resident of Koputaroa ajid: knowing Shannon well, T feel sure that the vast majority of the citizens of Shannon would prefer going to Levin. It is an open secret that that is so. Rut as some of the big guns of that village are apparently opposed to going so far afield, I say the people of this town will give them a hearty welcome at oua* celebrations. When "we" do start, Koputaroa does the thing handsomely, and it would bo most umforiimnte if the Shannon celebrations turn out a dismal failure. By all means, let Shannon's citizens visit ow town, because we mean to knock spots off Mannkaui, Ohau—and even Levin.— yours, etc., CANTERBURY TALES Koputaroa.
