The temporary cessation of rain which in Southland was viewed almost as a droualut, has evidently not materially affected the stock carrying capacity of that country, for there a.re frequent inquiries in this district for good dairying cows and store cattle. One farmer writes asking for information regarding prospective sales, so that if the stock on offer is inviting lie may be present.
