The East Cork election .petition resulted in the unseating of Captain Donelan, on the ground that accounts relating to compromising payments had been suppressed. It was stated iJliat the election was eonducted with reckless disregard ro the Statue. (Chronicle Note: At tho general election in December last year Oapt. Donelan (Nationalist) defeated Mr W. O'Brien (Independent Nationalist) by a. majority of 1339.)
