Mine Cable Breaks

Through the failure of the winding gear at the Sons of Gwn.lia mine at Mount Leonora, _ North Cool gardie, the skip containing ten men fell to the bottom »f a shaft 2000 feet in depth. Tlie cable parted and fell oil top of the skip. Mr Frank Rooney, an assistant surveyor, was killed, ami Mr Adiuns, a surveyor, is not expected to recover. Six Diviners were seriously injured.
