She- "booked ilier passage, but at tho last minute decided not to go by the vessel. HOW THE CARGO WAR STOWED MERCHANT SERVICE GUILD'S ALLEGATIONS. MELBOURNE, April 4. The Merchant Service Guild: has made allegations to the Minister of Customs regarding the manner in which the Yongala's cargo was stowed. Tt was stated that sonic hundreds of tons of pigiron, which formed her ballast, had 'been removed. BRISBANE, April 4. Mr AVareham, the Queensland manager of the Adelaide Company, states that when the Yongala was running between Sydney and Westralin. there, was very little back cargo offering and 150 tons of pigiron was put in, but as the captain and engineer roported that the vessel was better without it, it was taken out in June 1907. Further wreckage lias been discovered at Lucinda Point, including gratings and varnished panels, similar to tho Yongala's. A public meeting was held and. a committee formed to raise subscriptions; £200 was collected at the meeting. It is now stated that tho Nares Rock was frequently used by warships as a target, for practice, and this possibly accounts for the broken pieces.
