PAHAUTANUI STOCK SALE
The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—At I'ahautanni sale on Monday wo- yarded just on 1000 sheep. With the exception of two small lots all changed hands at the undermentioned prices:—Two-tooth wethers, Us 10d ; fat ewes, 13s, 12s Gd, 12s; aged ewes, 9s Id, 7s lid, 5s 6d, 4s; lambs, 5s Gd, ss, 3s Id, 2s 9d; 2i-year-okT steei's, £4 17s Gd ; two Ghoorka fillies CIO 10s each. WOOL~SALES. Dalgoty and: Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London office, dated Ist inst. :— "Wool sales closed firm, and prices generally are on.a par with the highest point of these sales. As compared with closing -rates of last series Merino wools of all descriptions are 5 per cent to 7i per cent higher ; fine crossbred greasy, 5 per cent to 10 per cent;; medium crossbreds, greasy, par to o per cent higher; coarse crossbreds, greasy, 5 per cent to 10 per cent higher. Scoured crossbreds show a rise of 5 per cent to 7i per cent, and slipe wools are 5 per cent higher." "The total-quantity available for sale amounted to 232,000 bales, of which 3000 bales have been soldi for America, 120,000 bales for Homo consumption, 72,000 bales for tho Continent.' 30,000 bales were not offered, and 37,000 bales are carried forward, to noxt series."
