FRUIT AND PRODUCE SALE, The Levin Auctioneering Co. report on their furniture, fruit and produce sale on Saturday as under: We offered a big catalogue to a crowded room of buyers. Bidding throughout was brisk and w© made a ■complete clearance oLall goods submitted to auction, demand for fruit Avas gowl. We offered a first>cln&s line of Nelson dessert apples and peaelios, wJiic.li realised good prices. Tomatoes are now in short supply and prices have advanced. We quote Tomatoes,ls 9d, 2s 6d to 3s (id; apples, 2s .'ld, 2s 4d, 2s 7d. 3s to os 3d ; peaches -Is fi ; pears, 3s per half-case; quinces, Id per lb; potatoes, os 8d j>er cwt; unions, Id per lb. Furniture was in good demand. PIG AND POUT/TRY SAT/M The Levin Auctioneering Co. report on tiheir Levin pig and poultry sale, held on Friday last:—We yarded a large number of pigs of all classes, including some really jrood pens of prime porkers. There was a decided! improvement in the market, prices showing a considerable advance on late rates. Several buyers were present. Wellington 'butchers and exporters being represented. Prices were too high for export trade consequently the wlhole yarding was purchased by Wellington butchers. Stores and weaners showed a slight advance. We quote: Heavy porkers, to 32s Od;; medium, 255, 25s fid, 2fis fid to 28s; light, 21s. 225, 23s Ixl to 2-ls; stores, 9s !)*d to 12s; weaners, Is 9d, os, os 3d .to fis Gd. Chickens, (id to 8d; hens, lid. to Is 9d; roosters ,1s 3d to Is 8d; dhicks. Is 8d: .all at enoli. Apples, 2s 3d, 2s lOd, 4s 2d. Os; quinces, 3s f)d:; potatoes, os* fid.
