A disgraceful riot occurred on the Agricultural Society's ground. An enormous crowd; srathered, to witness a buckjumping contest. Failing to secure accommodation elsewhere hundreds attempted to rusn a •grandstand wfliich is in course of erection. Those m charge tried to stop the rush, and a general fight took place. ■Several were badly injured. .FURTHiRDETATLS. CROWD NUMBERS 78,000. The buck.jiimpmg exhibition drew a crowd estimated at 78,000 people. As soon as the exhibition'started hundreds 'of men and bbys broke the barriers and rushed the enclosure shouting and 'howlipfi. They then commenced Jiasin.Q- the horses and cattle used in connection with the shmv, adding to the uproar and! confusion. The disturbance was in. progress for an hour befoi-e reinforced .police were able to clear the ground.
