Siv, — All is silence. Peace again reigneth in the city. Tlio big tlnuti which did disturb the. wittohos of the night has been returned to the attic —there to rot drily amjdi the dust—and the trombone still, adorns tlie Salvation Army barracks wall. All is silence. Not even Mr Graver or Mr Moon, is disturbing the peace of tlie city with a wordy outpouring of a wealth of wisdom. All is silence. Long Peter Patton no more disturbs the peaceful neighbourhood of Queen street while working up muscle by the aid of a drum stick. All is silcrtce. Pcmee again reigneth in the city. Often I sit and ponder as to the reason of those recent, noises. Was it a concentrated effort to produce a good result or was there some seismic disurbanee that caused our good fellow townsmen to got slightly off their equilibrium? Or was it merely flatulence —Yours etc.,
