At the appointed hour there was no ajjprirnnce of the prosecution, and after uniting 20 minutes the defence was heard. Four witnesses were examined on oath, and the findings of that committee are as follows:— " We tiiie undersigned, being a committee set up for the -purpose of enquiring into the alleged misbehaviour of Mr Byrou Brown with a certain young lady, and having thoroughly investigated the .said allegations do unanimously and l unhesitatingly declare on jpositive proof, that such charges have not the slightest foundation in fact."
