THE WERAROA FIRE.
To the Editor. Sir,— Your correspondent "Citi■/.on" states that "your report re tho Weraroa fire was somewhat erroneous." May I inform "Citizen' ' that his letter \vn,s not only "somewhat erroneous," Ini,t, distinctly so. Ho wants to know "what wont wrong with the Weraroa wheel ?" !' and others were waiting fully ten minutes at the corner of Hitching.? and Hankins wanting to lenow where the fire was. when young Mr Scott '■iiiiift dashing along saying n't was at Wornron. We assisted to take the Weraroa wheel down to the scene of the fire, and were there a considerable time before the Levin wheel arrived in the hands of these "valiant civilians." There was no necessity for a howling moh of Levinites to create a disturbance in Weraroa, at 12 o'clock at night, and so far as "Citizen" is concerned— T may not know him—hut I rather suggest ilne was one of the men from Levin who needlessly brought up tho reel and who, for his' interference, got a cold douche from a hose.—
Yours etc., J. MJDDLETON. Wcraroa.
