A goud proof of tho suitability of Levin soil for maize culture is supplied by a maize crop raised by Mr G. D. Adkin, son of Mr W. G'. Adkin, the well-known settler of Queen street, Levin. The crop was manured with light dmsrngs of superphosphate; .uid 'guano, andi the su-per-excellence of tlhe resulting "mealies" may be .seen on inspection of the sample left at this office by Mr A<U\in* junior.
