f GAINS AND LOSSES. At tho annual meeting of tho Palmerston North A. and P. Association the following financial details of the association's progress were submitted to members 'by the treasurer of t'ho society: Tho following total shows net profits from 1903 without writing off depreciation: 1903 £972, 190-1 £1197, 190.*; £1071, 1900 £984, 1907 £468, 1908 £539, 1909 £321, 1910 £288, 1911 £468. The position shown, indicates that the Association has reached its maximum receipts, and a considerable reduction in expenditure is necessary. Tho following is the pasition of receipts in various departments. Privileges, silight increase. Catalogues witihin £2 of 1906, out in 1903, the host year, £40 decrease. Donations, a serious decrease. Guessing, a steady decrease. Members subscriptions, continued steady decrease. Ground rents, steady increase up to 1909 audi down this year by £100 compared with that year. Poultry dog and general sales drop.from £189 in 1906 to £6 last year. Winter Show—entry fees, guessing, members' subscriptions and rent arc the main losses in revenue. A most unsatisfactory position. rn expenditure the prize allocation has decreased for the Spring Show and small increase for tho Winter Show. Labour lhas increased by £1C over 1906, advertising and 'printing -—decrease of £78, poultry and. dog sa.lo.s_ have dropped from £143 to nothing. Since 1906 the Association has practically made no profit apart from donations. The land and improvement account has been reduced £271 in three years and einly £413 has been spent o nimprovements. Tn conclusion the treasurer said that while tlhe Association was in a sound financial position, it was time that some means were adopted either to increase their income or reduce tho expenditure.
