VESSELS WRECKED. [nr ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT-J [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received This Dav. 9.0 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. During tho recent severe gales around the Solomon Islands, tho Government steamer "Palama" was driven ashore and totally wrecked. The crew escaped. The schooner Levoueuwa was also wrecked off the island of Santiana. The crew got safely aslhore. The storms did considerable damage to the group of islands. EXTRA OR DIX AR Y RESULTS. OF A CLOUD BURST. LAUNCESTON, This Day. A cloud burst on the northeiVi slope of Mount Victoria cut a gorge a mile in length and a chain in width down tho bedrock denuding a dense forest. In the gorgo was expr sed a reef showing indications of good gold.
