A DIFFERENCE.
To tlie Editor. Sir,—ln your issue of yesterday I am reported as having stated that plialaris commutata grass mil pi» diieo about fourteen tons of hay to the acre. What I did say was "that [ considered it would yield about four tons per acre"—a difference of only ten tons per aero." Seedsmen's catalogues say it will produce eight tons per acre. Mr A. Gower. of tho Nvaikato, who has been experimenting for some time with this grass, thinks very hitrlily of it. Tie says he is certain that "plialaris commutata will give a greater amount of winter feed than any other grass. I have triedi paspaium and found it a had grass to sow on. good land, a>nd my advice to anyone is "don't sow it."—Yours GtC '' E. M. HEUTtfCK. Woraroa, March 11.
