At the bowling green the following singles wero played for the Gunning gold medal:— Esson heat Olsen, 18-22. Roach beat Olsen, 6-29. Bsson beat Gunning, 11—21. Roach beat Gunning, 14—21. LATVK , TENNIS.
The Lawn Tennis Clul> had a "red letter" day. Before commencing .play the members of the dub satheded round the flagpole. the unavoidable absence of Mr Carter (the vice-presfdent) who bad pivsentod the new flag. Mr Gibh, ':.• request, and on Mr Carter's behalf made the fwmal Mr Gibb, inter ab'a, said '-hat it t^a.- a chappy augury that the flag was (lying for the first time on t';o <'ny tii!il the el nil) had won its first r\a'.h; it was to be hoped that it would float aloft over .many otli'M viviies >' the club.
