Government Guarantee.
9 ON EXPORTED APPLES. The Minister of Agriculture and ot Industries and Commerce lias issued a notification tliat it lias been decided that the Government will guarantee exporters of apples from New Zealand to Europe -against loss on the following conditions:— 1. The varieties of apples shall ho .ri'bstone pippin, Cox's orange pipin, Alexander, Wellington pippin, scarlet nonpareil, New York pippin. Monroe's favourite, Cleopatra, Jonathan, rymer, alfriston, Adams's Pearmain, esopus Spitzenbcrg, sturmer. French crab, and other varieties approved by the Department's Inspector. 2. They shall be packed and graded to the satisfaction of the Inspector. 3. They shall be exported in Tasmanian or Peacock cases. 4. They shall be shipped in coldstorage. o. Exporters shall make their own arrangements for shipment to and sale in Europe. (5. The Hitsi # Commissioner's officers shall bo given facilities for inspection and reporting ion the fruit after arrival, and On the sale thereof. 7. The amount guaranteed to each growor shall be the net return of Id per pound l on the fruit forming bis part of tlho shipment. 8. The total amount guaranteed by the Government shall, however, not exceed £315 (being the amount claimed in respect of last year's shipment); and if,that sum does not yield ldi per-pound to eaeli, grower, it will lie distributed pro rata according to "the amount that would be due to each grower had the basis been Id per pound without the total amount being limited. 9. In calclating the amount to be deducted for expenses, New Zealand freights and' wharf charges, also cost of wrapping-paper, shall be taken into consideration, but the cost of the case a.nd the labour employed in packing shall not be taken into account. - ™ wi—wn
