THE BANT TROUBLE.
To the .Editor Sir, —Your space appears to be taken np lately by persons who can only be termed muckrakcrs. who appear to think they am ventilating a pufblic grievance. The question of promoting n municipal band was mooted by two or three musicians who were offered a set of instruments at a very low figure. Xatnrally those people went to the Roroujrh Council to request their financial assistance, because they wanted the propose*! band to be controlled by the council to insure a proper condition of management. Now, sir, those gontlemon who brought the matter before the council were in no way connected with the bands of the past; therefore T fail to see why they should lie called upon to account for the ■instruments used by the old band. That this town requires a band is obvious, nnd the fact that there are men willing to give their time and ability to the promotion of one Cthe instruments for which can be purchased at such a low figure) otisrlit to receive the fullest consideration from both the council and the public—Yours etc. A. GROVER. Lorin, February 11.
