A MOTHER AND THE BAND.
To the Editor. Sir, —Wo are hearing a great deail about a brass band for Levin, but Shave your -correspondents ever thought of the music, they can always hear, free of charge, if they •nly thought moro of the future than of things mundane. At th evarious churches there is sweet music every Sabbath and a hearty welcome is always freely given to Our sisters and brothers. I am afraid there is far too much seeking for the things of this world in our midst than attending, as wo used to in. our younger days, tho churches that the wisdom ami piety good men and women have erected in this beautiful island. I do not want to preach, but I do trust that these few linos will induce the people to turn their thoughts in a higher direction, so that "our sons may grow up as the young plants and our daughters as the polished corners *of the temple."—Yours etc., ONLY A MOTHER. Tiro Tiro road, Weraroa.
