The Markets in Levin.

HITOHINGS, HANKINS AXD 00., LTD.

Pigs and Poultry.—The market on Friday, 11th inst., did not show any advance for porkers, but as we predicted in our last report, store pigs were in good demand at advanced prices. As soon as the bacon factories commence operas tions, there is certain to be a pood demand for baconers, which are very scarce at the present time. This will not have any effect on the pork market as far as we can ascertain. There should, however, be a wood market for porkers throughout the season, as owing to the rearing of a large number of dairy calves this season, the supply of pork is very much smaller'than was the case last vear. We quote as follows:—Porkers (heavy) 28s 6d, 30a to 34s 6d; (mediums) 26s to 275, (light) 23s 6d to 255; sows in'pig, 50s, 53s 6d to 60s: store pigs, 16s, 18s, 18s to 22s for forwar dpigs; weaners, ss. 6s 6d to 11s: slips,-11s 6d to 12s 6d.
