Yesterday an exciting scene was witnessed in Oxford street, Levin. A horse and trap occupied by little Miss Burlinson and Master Purlinson took fright outside Dr. McKenzie's residence, and dashed down' the road. It charged into the trees on the side of the road where Mr Anstice has erected his new premises and would have capsized but for the splendid manner in which Master and Miss Burlinson. held to the reii'S, Miss Burlinson showing the greatest pluck. The catalogue of entries for the forthcoming Show at Feilding has Iteen compiled. A perusal of the eiiitries shows that last year's record figures have been exceeded by a good margin. This is a 'highly satisfactory result when it is taken into consideration, that Danncvirke has a similar event on the same day that will attract a lot of entries that would otherwise have been sent to Feilding. \t is pleasing to note that there has been shown a very substantial increase in the number of dairy and fat cattle entries. Sheep show a strong entry and more space will lie needed for their accommodation. The classes open for pigs arc well filled, and the domestic section has drawn record entries in every department. In one or two classes horses show a slight falling off in comparison with last year, hut the aggregate is well above the average. Nominations for the competitions and ring events are particularly good and go to prove the popularity of this form of rivalry amongst owners, who will meet on the convincing grounds on Tuesday and Wednesday, 7th and Sih February, when excursion fares wi'l be available from Levin and all intermediate stations.
