The' supply of Canterbury is practically exhausted.. Nominally, Canterbury is 4|d, and North Island 4£d. Lamb.—The market shows signs of weakness. Tlbis season's Canterbury Gd; other than Canterbury, s;]d. Beef.—The market is quiet, with an improved demand. New Zealland hindquarters 3Jd; forequarters 2-Jd. ; Butter.—'The market, is firm and advanced on account of" speculative buying. Choicest New Zealand but. ter is 110s. Australian IOJs, Danish 11 Gs and 1 Argentine 100s. Cheese.—The market is firm, with a hardening tendency. The demand is getting better and the. prospects are favourable. White 575, coloured 58s 6d. The market is dull, and likely to continue so. New Zealand good, fail 1 on spot £20 os, fair grade ,£l9 15s. The supply of fair current Manila for the week was 19,000 bales. Wool. Tlve market is a shade weaker, and buyers are holding hack. 36's, low crossbredsy Is Id; 40's. low crossbreds, Is Kd,; 44's, medium crossbreds, Is 2£d; 50's halfbreds, Is 6-Jd; 56's, qunrterbreds, Is 9sd; 60's merinos, 2s lid.
