— •■ ADVENTURES OF WHALERS. I WRECKED IN ARCTIC-SEAS. I A thrilling account of Arctic ad- | venture was given by two of the crew of the Dutch whaler ' Janita Agatha, who were brought to Dundee recently by the Dundee schooner Thomas. The Janita Agatha sailed from Dundee thirteen months ago, and nothing further being heard of her' tho Thomas was fitted out and despatched in search of her. The crew of the Thomas found' the two men living with the Eskimos. It appears that the Janita Agatha was caught in a severe gaje and driven against an iceberg: At: tempts to save the schooner proved fruitless, and eventually the crew had to take to an open boat.'" For days they drifted, about, buffeted by blizzards and iii constant danger of being sunk by icebergs. Eventually they reached. Cumberland Gulf, but they found their prorations far from ended, as they had tp live through an unusually trying Arctic winter with the natives Native fare, mainly raw seal flesh, was their only means oT subsistence, and even that was giving out .when they were succoured by. the Dundee whalers. The remainder of the crew are coming home on the Dundee whaler Scotia. ' ..■■-.■
