Tho Duke of Connaught's appointment as Governor-General has been officially notified. The i)uke will arrive in Canada in September. (Chronicle Note: Tho Duko of Conuatight, who recently opened 'tho new Union Parliament of South Africa, has been an Inspector-General of the Forces and President of the Selection Hoard. In 1907 he was appointed Field Marshal Commanding in Chief of the Mediterranean forces, and High Commissioner in tho Mediterranean. Ho will succeed 'Karl Grey, who will return to Great Briitain-'with the reputation of having been one of. the greatest administrators that has left England's shores for the past half century.)
