ANNUAL MEETING SHANNON' CO-OI'ERATIVE DAIRY 00.

The second annual meeting ot the above named company was held in the Druids' Hall on Wednesday night. There was a big attendance of .members and the chairman ol directors (Mr E. Law) presided. The report and balance sheet, which were of an extremely Satisfactory nature were read and adopted. The .report says that owing to the quality of the butter ot the beginning; of last season not being quite satisfactory, the manager decided to try pasteurisation of the cream. This proved a- success fro nitbe start, and the reports both from our- Home and local agents as to the quality of the butter have been must satisfactory. Suppliers have delivered 32-U9lilbs of butter fat, for which they ilvavo received £14271 lis Bd, and 170 tons of butter have been manufactured. The average test lor the season has been 3.9. and it has taken 21.811bs of milk to make lib butter. The following prices ihave been paid for butter fat: Septeml>er, 10\d; October-November-De-ceinber-Januarv, KM; February. lOJd; March, lid; • pril-Mny-Juno-Jilly-August, Hid. The balance of the profit ami: loss accitont, aftei providing for all working expenses shows the substantial sum of £lll)o 13s Bd. Of this £o()0 has been paid in reduction of the mortgage, £373 in the .purchase of a combined churn and butter-worker, obtaining a supply of artesian water, new floor for the factory and new machinery, and a brake for the cartage of cream, leaving a balance of £292 9s 7d to be disposed of, which we ■propose to do as follows: By payment of divideut of (.5 per cent or. the paid up capital of the company, writing off preliminary exp.'iis.s. and carrying tihe balance forwar!. The directors have decided to instal .plants for the pasteurisation of skim milk. The first of these is now working at the and if it proves the success anticipated plants will be at once put in at the creameries. The directors expect very little expense in renewals for the factory and creameries for the coming year, as they have just received a complete overhaul. which lias been paid for out of last year's working. The Topliss combined oburn and butter worker installed has proved a very great success in every way.

It was decided to disburse the balance of profits carried forward bv paving the directors a bonus of £"69 os, and the secretary, Mr E. J. Judd, a bonus of £20. The balance of £81 17s 9d was carried forward.

Messrs E. Law and G. 0. Barber, the retiring directo's, were returned unopposed. The chairman moved, and Mr T. Bowe .seconded, n 'hearty vote of thanks to the employees for the faithful manner in which they had carried out theii duties, especialv mention being made of the splendid work of the manager.
