EGG CIRCLE FOR LEVIN
To the Editor
Sir,—That was not a correct roport of the Poultry Sub-committee's •proceedings at our mooting last Saturday which appeared in to-day's Horowhcnua Chronicle. _ I was under the innocent impression that I both suggested nnd moved those two resolutions which Mr Rower put to paper; but it (foes really not matter the beard of a turnip who moved tiliem, so long as wo can show some practical results. I am not aware that the committee passed a resolution to write to ...r Merrett asking him to come am", organise an egg circle, etc. There is no need for this. Mr Merrott has been ready to come ever si net our last unsuccessful attempt. It is wo who are not quite ready, truly, owing to the low prices paid foi eggs locally, the need of an egg circle Urns becon more evident. M? Merrett is to inform us of tlio da\ he is coming, within the next fortnight. 'When he was here last Friday I suggested a slight delav. to try lirst and get the General Committee to add the following gentlcment to the Poultry Riib-eoiii ■'illee •Messrs Bishop, Wilson, MrtUnld ■Storey, "Webb, Rnsthor, Darrn-h' Hart, Hall, Rudd, and a few more yoimg hopefuls." Then we wouh. iiare at once a Suh-conimittee and ft society of poultrymen to tackle the egg_ circle business. It is not ft Question of passing mere resolutions. Here we have the practical vork. Let us do it.—Yours etc , r 0 11. leger'. n era ron. Sept. 27.
