A miner named .James linker, a <i.eil sixty yeai\s. was working yesterday in tl'io Stain Colliery at Pillar's, when lie met with fatal injuries through the fa a of t.lio _ roof. Over Iwo hours were occupied in extricating him, owing to the roof continuing to fall, thus rendering it difficult, to re.seno liini. The unfortunate man wa.s got out at hall-past three p.m.. and wa.s at once removed to the hospital, but he succumbed at 7 o'clock. Bakei leaves a willow and live children, the youngest being only a lew mouths old.
