Australia and Now Zealand would soon ho in a position to make a serious contribution to. the force of the Empire in a part ol the world where a naval force would be required in a very fow yeairs. Tho fact that the Australian destroyers were ocean-going proved that the Australians are not influenced by narrow views of locai defence.

Mr Fiwines condemns the small Canadian cruisers as valueless both to Canada and the Umpire.
