The works of all the leading poets of past and present times are to be found on the bookshelves at THOMPSON'S, Oxford Street, Levin. Spenser's "Faery Queen." Shelley's "Prometheus Unbound," Elizabeth Barrett Browning's Love Sonnets, and various other standard I works may be quoted. One youthful miss, with a precocious turn for irony, writes:— "There's a stationery shop in Levin you should know, Where all the commonsense people do go. There arc a few more who live round about Should visit this shop when'ev they are out."
After considering various merits and weaknesses in the many verses' sent in' the judge lias decided to award the prize of five shillings to the following effort THOMPSON'S BOOK AROADE "Of course you all know this place of renown For good quality goods; its the best in the town.
