EVENTS IN SHANNON. (Reported by " Tlio Chronicle'*" Resident Representative.) There .was the usual good attendance on Tuesday night at the (Druids' lodge rooni. tlio occasion being the .Debating Society's second Shakespearean rending. "Macbeth" (Mr G. H. Gibb) was particularly good in the title rolo, and was admirably supported by Mrs .Barclay as "Tiiuly Macbeth." Mrs Porirco also deserves special meivtinn for 'her d'ramatic rendering of.the part of "Lady MaodufF." Following is the oast:— " Duncaiu" (King of Scotland), Mr Gundy; "Malcolm" •and "Donalbain" (his sons), Mr W. H. Gunning and Barclay; "Macbeth," Mr' G. H. Gibb; "Banqno," Mr R. Law; "Macfluff," Mr J. Galland; "Lenox," Mr W. Clayton; "Rosse," Mr. j. Tilling; "Menteith," "Angus," and "•Caithness," Mr J. Barclay; "Fleance," .Mr J. Mitchell; if SiAvnrd" Mr Rerntson; "Seyton, ,, Mr C. P. Exalt; "Doctor," Mr J. Hnllam; "An Old Man," Afr Hensman; "Lady Macbeth," Mrs Barclay; "Lady MacdufT," Mrs Pearco; "Hecate," Miss Asqnith; ''Three Witches," Misses K. WicklifFe. P. Gunning and, F. Linsell. Next Tuesday Mr Barclay will niove, "that' the Government should not Sell any more Crown Lands." Tho motion will be opposed 'by Mr C. B. .Robinson. Special preparations are being niadeJor the final social on the 27th inst. The committee is endeavouring to get new talent. The Shannon Savages will mak: , their first appearance, when they will perform <a number c f original liakas, led by their wa.rl ; ':o chief.
