_ HI * SUMMARY OF THE NEW TIMB TABLE. The alterations and amendment* to the railway time table hate reduced many a citizen to the state of John Jones, costermonger, eome time of London, made illustrious by a song writer who sang of him that "since Jack Jones came into a little bit of oof 'e dunno where e' are I" The experiences of yarying time tables during the past three or four months have left dubioui impression! in the minds of citizens, # and quite a number have missed their passages through confusing la3t month's times with those of the present. No doubt there will be general appreciation felt for the subjoined summary of train times, which will be printed in "The Chronicle" from day to day, until familiarity cures the present doubtfulness with which residents in various localities are afflicted. $, fS , -?* • "~! Some of the above trains will stop at intermediate stations, such ea Tokomaru, Ohau, Manakau, Tβ Horo, etc.; but there are tome which do not. J : : -'Coo '' i. As previously mentioned, there are several wayside stations at which one or more of the above trains will stop whenever passengers dosire to be set down or taken up. Local residents may ascertain which are the trains which cater for their towns, and may then work out, from the above figures, the time which the train will take to travel from the station immediately preceding. The Auckland express reaches Palmerston, from the North, at 12.40 p.m. and arrives at Thorndon at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland express leaves Thorndon at 12.15 p.m. and reaches Palmerston at 3.35 p.m.
