RIFLE SHOOTING.
PRACTICE AT LBVIN RANGE.
Levin Rifle Club made the most of the perfect _ Weather on Saturday j there being rt big mUstei of marksmen at the range. _ The occasion was the first "practice shoot" of the season. Firing took place at '200, 500 and 600 yards. A light •breeze blew in froin j the right, and the light was a perfect one. Some new members made creditable debuts, notably Rflm. J. Miiiiro. An old marksman, in Rflm. Francis, got on the creditable sco"re of 31 at 600 yards. Some of the members were unable to complete the three ranges, buit of those that dad Rflm. J. Rutherford proved best. He got on 88 out or the possible 88. The 200 yards range .proved the hardest instead of the easiest, andi 30 out of 35. wore the best scores made, the makers being Rflm. W. R. Ingram and J. Munro. At 500 yards Rflm. C. Ingram and W. R. Ingram both notched 33 out of 35. Rflm. Francis (31) and Rutherford (30) made the best scores amongst those who were able to fire at 600 yards. A practice match, at 500 and 600 yards, will be fired nert Saturday.
