SERMON BY THE ARCHBISHOP OF YORK. [BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—COPI rtIGHT.J [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. J LONDON, September 5. The Anehbishop of York, the Ri<jjbt Rev. Dr Cosmo Gordon Lang, preaching yesterday at a special service atend'ed by members of the British Association at Sheffield, said the quarrels between religion and science were now confined to a comparatively few of those who might be termed camp followers. True science was concentrating itself on its own siilbject matter, it was becoming impressed by the mysteries involved in the ultimate causes and origin of life and the meaning of the human spirit. Religion also was recognising its limitations, and abandoning the claim to prescribe God's methods of governing the world.
