RACING AT LEVIN.
lIOROWIITCNUA CLUB'S SPRING
MEETING
CONCLUDED ON SATURDAY
A successful conclusion of the Horowihonu Racing Club's Spring Meeting was experienced on Saturday, and the club has reason to bo satisfied with such an experience after the inauspicious opening that Friday's downpour of rain occasioned. The quality of the racing was good on both days, and the manner in whicili l the whole fourteen events on the card were run off strictly to time constituted a ''host on record" so far as the present writer's experience goes. To liavo t'wo days' events run through without a single race being five minutes 'behind its advertised time of starting surely entitles the secretary, stewards, and all other officials of the club to the wannest congratulation. Good finishes and satisfactory fields were the rule all through the. meeting, and it is not too much to say that if fine weather had been experienced on both days a new criterion for the club would have been established.
