-i— -— SUMMARY OF THE* NEW TIMB TABLE. The alterations and amendment to the railway time table hava reduced many a citizen to the Btate of John Jones, costermonger, some time of London, made illustrious by a song writer who sang of him thai "since Jack Jones came into a littU bit of oof 'e dunno where e' are!" The experiences of varying time tables during the past three or four months have left dubious impression! in the minds of citizens, and quite a number have missed their passaged through confusing last month's times • with those of the present. No doubt there will be general appreciation felt for the subjoined summary of train times, which will be printed in "The Chronicle" from day to day, until familiarity cures the present doubtfulness with which residents in various localities are afflicted.

Local residents may ascertain which are the trains which cater for their towns, and may then work out, from the above figures, the time which tho train will take to travel from tho station immediately preceding. The Auckland express reaches Palmerston, from tho North, at 12.40 p.m. and arrivas at Thorndon at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland oxpress leaves Thorndon at 12.15 p.m and reaches Palmerston at 3.35 p.id
