Helm's XrWARU, 7.5 3 Also started.— Magneto, Torpoint, Rangiuru. Moanui. Won all the way. Time, Tin in 0 2-osec. LFVTX HANDICAP (Open). Five furlongs. Mr L. .Bremer's KAREROA. 7.10 (L. Nodder) ... 1 Mr R. A. McDonald's ASCALOX, 7.2 2 Air J. McLaughlin's MULTIPLE 9.G 3 Also started.— Xaiunai, Lord Kelvin, Dervish. Naumai made the pace warm over the early stages, hut compounded in the straight. The winner came very fast over the last fifty yards and heat Ascalon by a Jength and a half. The
third ltorse was half a length further back ,and Lord Kelvin was beaten by a neck for third place. Time, lmin b'sec. MOUTERE HACK HANDICAP. One mile. Mr G. Foreman's MALLETT. 7.5 (R. Deploy) .' I Mr Dennett's St.' LUMSDEN. Mr 11. Whitney's MEDITERRANEAN, '7.0 S Also started.—Penza, Waipnnm. Rangikura, Rangikaptia, Dearest. St. liiimsdeu and Dearest were soonest away. but Dearest fell back ere long. .Mallet, who was badly left in the early stages, came very fast up the straight, cut down all the opposition and won bv a length. St. Lumsden heat Mediterranean by a nose for second place. Time, lmin IBsec.
