Shelley's "Prometheus Unbound," Elizabeth Marrett Browning's Love Sonnets, and various other standard works may be quoLc;!. Samples of the works of Levin poets, also, may be procured at Thompson's. There were quite a number of Ohau and Levin and Weraroa poets movod to measured praise by the offer of a prize for the best versified composition. One youthful miss, with a precocious turn for irony, writes:— "There's a stationery shop io Levin you should know, Where all the eommonsenso pooplo do go. There are a few more who live round about Should visit this shop when'or they arc out." After considering various merits and weaknesses in the many verses; sent in' the judge has decided to awai-d the prize of five shillings to llifi following effort:—
