SUMMARY OF THE NEW TIME TABLE. Tho alterations and amendment* to the railway time table have reduced many a citizen to the Btate of John Jones, costermonger, some time of London, made illustrious by a song writer who sang of him that "since Jack Jones came into a utile bit of oof 'e dunno where a' arel Tho exporiences of varying time tables during tho past three or four months have left dubious impression* in the minds of citizens, and quite a number have missed their passages through confusing lsst months times with those of tho present. No doubt there will be general appreciation felt for the subjoined, summary of train times, which will be printed in "The Chronicle trom day to day, until familiarity cures the present doubtfulness with which residents in various localities are afflicted.
As previously mentioned, there are several wayside stations at which ono or more of the above trains will stop whenever passengers dosire to bo set down or taken up. Local residents may ascertain which are the trains which cater for their towns, and may then work out, from the above figures, the time which the .train will tako to travel from tho station immediately preceding. Tho Auckland express reaches Palmerstrm, from tho North, at 12.40 p.m. and arrives at Thorndon at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland oxpiess leaves Thorndon at 12.15 p.m and reaches Palmersfcon at 3.35 j).ir
