When Crippeu and Le Neve <ipptarod at Bow street Police Court, li Drew stated that a cam inind 011 Crippeu bore the words; •'I cannot stand every night's horror, as there is nothing bright ahead, and as the journey is ending 1 will jump overboard tonight. 1 have spoiled my life, o'une day \\,it may learn to forgive ni'\" A second card in the same writing asked: "Shall wo wait till ll to-night?" Inspector Drew added that when o''ippen was arrested he said lie was not sorry, as the anxiety had been tni much. Inspector Drew said : "As yon have uritten you intended to jump overboard 1 must fasten you with hland■Miffs." Crippen replied: "T wont do that. My anxiety has been too awful." Onppen added: "It is only fail to say Le Neve knows nothing about it " Le_ Neve assured witness she know nr thing, and the hearing was then adjourned.
