* SUMMARY OF THE NEW TIME TABLE. The alteration and amendment* to the railway time table have reduced many a citizen to the state of John Jones, costermonger, aome time of London, made illustnoua by. a song writer who eang of him that "since Jack Jones came into a little bit of oof 'e dunno where e , arel The experiences of varying time tables during the past three or four months have left dubioua lmpreaeioM in the minds of citizens, and quite a number have missed their passage* through confusing last month I times with those of the present. No doubt there will be general appreciation felt for the subjoined summary of train times, which will be printed in "The Chronicle ,, from day to day, until familiarity cures the present doubtfulness with which residents in various localities are afflicted.

Aa previously mentioned, there are several wayside stations at which one or more of the above trains will stop whenever passengers desire to bo set down or taken up. Local residents may ascertain which are the trains which cater for thoir towns, and may then work out, from the above figures, the time which the train will take to travel from the station immediately preceding. The Auckland expresa reaobee Palmerstan, from the North, at 12.40 p.m. and arrives at Thorndon at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland express leaves Thomdon at 12.15 p.m. and reaches Palmereton at 8.33 p.m.
