Sir ; —Tho match, Wellington v n combined Horowhenua - Ma :iawi ti team, to be played at PalmersL'-n o September 7th, has brought to i;:, mind a suggestion which, if actev. upon, would, T think, not only ensure the best team possible bonis selected to represent the combine! unions, but probably provide the most brilliant spectacular display Oi football ever seen on the Manawitu ground. What I would suggest is as follows:—That the Horowhe.iu.a team should play Manawatu at Palmerstou North on Wednesday, August 31st. The first twenty minutes to be Manawatu v. Horowhenua; the second twenty minutes, Manawatu backs and Horowhenua forwards v. Manawatu forwards and Horowhrwia backs, and the last forty minute. 5 * Probables v. Possibles. The firkt spell would he a good even, hon?st go: the second would be fast and brilliant, with every player doing his best, while the final 40 min.Hcs should provide a spectacular dispiay that would both delight and eleetr'fv the spectators.
