»- JXniSORI.MIXATE KICKING. ON 10 MORIO VICTIM. [I'ER I'itESS ASSOCIATION.] XAPIKK, August 21. A young man named Sidney Saniuel Charlton, aged twenty-thret years, a son of Mr S. Charlton, hotelkeeper, of Hastings, was fatally injured while playing football on the Napier recreation ground on Saturday afterni.on. Some (dose play having taken place in one part of the held, the game shifted, but Charlton, who had been taking a very active part, remained lying on the ground. It was at first thought he was merely winded, but when asked how he was he said he felt "yen crook," adding that ho had been kicked just below the heart. Il« was .removed to the pavilion and a restorative administered, but be gradually sank, and died twenty minutes after the nccident. An inquest will be held on Monday.
