One youthful miss, with a precocious turn for irony, writes: "There's a stationery shop in Levin you should know, Where all the cominonsenso people do £0. There are a few more who live round about Should visit this shop wheu'or they are out." After considering various merits and weaknesses in tho many verses sent in' the judge lias decided to award the prize of five shillings to j the following effort: - THOMPSON'S BOutv ARCADE "Of course you aTI know this plaee of renown I'Vr grod quality goods; it.s the l«ost in the town.
