SUMMARY OF THE NEW TIMETABLE/ The alterations and amendment* to the railway time table have reducod many a citizen to the state, of John Jones, costermonger, some time of London, made illustrious by u song writer who sang of him thai "since Jack Jones came into a little bit of oof 'e dunno where e arel The experiences of varying time tables during the past three or four months have left dubious impression! in the minds of citizens, and quite a number have missed their passages through confusing last month a times with those of the present. No doubt there will be general appreciation felt for the subjoined, sum ma ry of train times, which will be printed in "The Chronicle" from day to day, until familiarity cures the present doubtfulness with which residents in various localities are afflicted.
As previously mentioned, there are several wayside stations at which 0110 or moro of the above trains will stop whenever passengers dosire to bo set down or taken iip. Local residents may ascertain which are the trains which cater for their towns, and may then work out, from the above figures, the time which the train will take to travel from the station immediately preceding. The Auckland express reaches Pnhnerstoun, from the North, at 12.(0 p.m. and arrives at Thorndun at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland express leaves Thorndon at 12.15 p.m. and reaches Palmerston at 3.35 p.m
