AUCKLAND, 'I'mis Day. During the voyage of the Atua f.iom Samoa to Nukualofa a lire was discovered in the I'oreholrl at 1.1 •"> p.m. on Saturday, when the vessel was thirty miles from Nukualofa. The pungent smoke rendered work impossible, and the hold was battenend down. On arrival at Nukualo) a chemical lire oxtinguishr-r was pin into operation all Saturday and Sunday. The fire was put out by four o'clock in the afternoon. The vessel was pumped drv and then was found to bo practically undamaged. "
