PROSPECTING FOR MINERALS

To the Editor. Sir,—ls it not time that some move should be made to prospect the nmges lying east of this Coast, for minorals,. if anything is to be done this summer. I understand that last year meetings were held in both Levin, Otaki and Shannon, and committees formed to canvass for support, but as the attempt was made too late in the season, very little prospecting was done. I trust if we are going to test these ranges this summer for the treasures that undoubtedly lie bidden in them that a start will be made o< , to organise a prospecting ns'ociation, so as to be ready for work when the fine weather starts. Honing that the matter will be taken Uji in a really energetic manner. — ours, etc., PROGRESS.
