The County Clerk of the Maurice ville County Council wrote to the Horowhenua County Council—ant the letter was read to the comici at to-day's meeting of that body— slating that in regard to the readjusting of the county boundaries his council ihad decided to defer consideration of the matter.

Tihosc little children demanded, in Iminauity't, name, help and assistance. They might become some of our best citizens, and able defenders of our Empire. (Applause). He ventured to say that under the new regime many children of that locality woulc greatly benefit. As Dr. Hardwick Smith had said: Three tilings are necessary for the dhildren. They are God's remedies: Fresh air, sunshine and water; that was what they were trying to do in building the new hospital, and in helping his colleagues and himself as they were doing that evening they were exemplifying in the highest degree the text concerning the cup of eld water, that was not to be denied to the least of the children.
