SUMMARY OF THE NEW TIME TABLE. The alterations and amendment* to the railway tune table have reduced many a. citizen to the stato .of John Jones, costermonger, some time of London, made illustrious by a song writer who sang of him thai "since Jack Jones camo into a little bit of oof 'e dunno whore e' are!" Tho experiences of varying time tables during the past three or four months have left dubious impressions in the minds of citizens, and quite a number havo missed their passages through confusing last month's times with those of tho present. No doubt there will bo general appreciation felt for tho subjoined summary of train times, which will be printed in "Tho Chronicle" from day to day, until familiarity cures the present doubtfulness with which residents in various localities are i 1

As previously mentioned, there are several wayside stations at which one or more of the above trains will stop whenever passengers dosire to bo set down or taken up. Local residents mny ascertain which are the trains which cater for their towns, and may then work out, from the above figures, the time which the train will take to travel from the station immediately preceding. Tiie Auckland express reaches Palmorshin, from the North, at 12.10 p.m. and arrives at Thorndim at 4.7 p.m. The Auckland express leaves Thonidon at 12.15 p.m. and reaches Palmerston at 3.35 p.in
